Day 01: Shimla – Dhali – Mashobra – Baldayien – Shari – Thaila – Gulthani –Deola


Distance: 35 km

Duration: 3 – 4 hours

Biking option: 25 km

Elevation difference: 3000 ft.

Gradient: Moderate to Strenuous

Drive 30 minutes to reach Mashobra, meander down on international multi-geared mountain bikes into the impressive Mashaobra valley with stunning views. Biking along Shali peak, the highest peak in the vicinity of Shimla, on the opposite side, through lush green Himalayan countryside adds a charm to this thrilling ride.

Biking down the valley, reach the river side bank, to enjoy a special packed outdoor lunch. Experience, the silence of quiet valleys, continually, broken by the gushing winds.

Get geared up for an uphill 5 km of uphill ride to reach you Himalayan home-stay at the base of Shali peak.

Overnight at Shali Heights – A Himalayan Home-stay.


Day 02: Deola – Khatnol – Shali ghat – Shali Peak – Deola.


Distance: 20 km

Duration: 7 – 8 hours

Elevation difference: 1800mt.

Gradient: Moderate to Strenuous

After early breakfast, a four hours of hike passes through fascinating Himalayan countryside, wide range of typical Himalayan flora and ample chances to spot the indigenous animal and bird-life. Leaving the habitations soon one enters an ancient trail shaded with a thick coniferous cover.

The final leg of the hike starts from Shali Ghat, the pass which connects the princely state of Bhajji with Sutlej valley. Following the ridgeline the wide panorama of Great Himalayan range becomes visible. And down can be seen, numerous false lines of interlocked valleys as described by Rudyard Kipling.

Of an avid photographer the place offers numerous opportunities to capture this beauty of nature.

Reach, the top of the peak which is crested by an old temple dedicated to Goddess Bhima Kali. The natural beauty and spiritual magnetism of the place amalgamates here and leaves the visitors spellbound.

Visit the ancient temple and enjoy a well deserved packed lunch on the summit. Later, for overnight, walk down to your home in the Himalayas, Shali heights.


Day 03: Deola – Thaila – Basantpur – Tattapani


Distance: 28 km

Duration: 3 – 4 hours

Elevation difference: 2000ft.

Gradient: Easy to moderate

After a leisure breakfast, bid goodbye to the place and bike down into Sutlej valley to Tattapani, a small hamlet by the banks of River Sutlej. En-route visit one of the oldest British water pumping station at Gumma.

Continue biking further down and dramatically the evergreen coniferous cover changes into deciduous cover.

The final lap of the ride moves along River Sutlej, one of the major River originating from the highlands of Tibet.

Reach, Tattapani, named after its hot Sulphur springs by the bank of Sutlej. Check – in at your hotel. Rejuvenate your weary body at the Spa offering traditional Ayurvedic treatments and day at leisure.

Overnight at hotel.


Day 04: Tattapani – Shimla

After, leisure breakfast drive back to Shimla.

Adventurous and Amazing.
Experience that I and my friend will never forget.
Cycling on the best road around Shimla wasn’t possible without a Local guy, as they had everything ready. Experiencing Nature at its best on breathtaking trek. If you are in Shimla and know cycling just go for it.
Worth Experiencing.
