LocalGuy: Huzefa Siamwala Speaks English, Hindi   II live, ski and climb in Manali since 2014. I also teach and promote "independent trekking skills" at Blue Bolt Project as an alternative philosophy for exploring outdoors. Best part about travelling for me is trying out local food, meeting interesting people and have unique experiences, and I would like to offer the same to the travelers visiting Manali.   To survive harsh cold in the mountains the most basic need is firewood. Saw and axe are the basic tools used for cutting wood. This fun program is an opportunity to learn how to use a saw and axe, and to experience a local's daily existence. Afterwords, enjoy local food in a village homestay. I am a Mumbai guy who now lives in mountains. I cut my own wood in the local forest and I can also teach you how to do it. You will explore the forest of Hamta valley to look for fallen trees and then practice your skills. You will be self sufficient in case you ever decide to move to the mountains.   LOCATION Hamta valley, 12 km from Manali  DURATION Half Day INCLUDED Saw and axe   Lunch - local food NOT INCLUDED Transportation Optional overnight stay in village homestay   LEARN * How to use saw and axe safely and efficiently * Identify different type of trees * I must note here that we don't cut living trees, we only cut fallen dead trees. * Spend half a day trekking and exploring the beautiful local forest with amazing view
