Triund is a large meadow of green grass and offers a spectacular 360 degree view. You can see the mighty Dhauladhar range on one side and the vast areas of Dharamshala on the other. This land form of ridge elevation is between 2,850 metres above the sea level. It is a one-day trek good for night camping and is approx. 10 kilometres (one way) from Mcleodganj bus stand and around 6 kilometres (one way) from Galu temple near Dharamkot. Dharamkot also acts as a Checkpost for the travellers going uphill.
Day1 : You meet the guide . The guide shares local stories about the significance of Dharamshala and the Triund trek. You steadily start walking uphill and reach the checkpost at Dharamkot. You are surrounded by lush green Deodar and Rododendron trees. The ascent becomes a little steep testing your will and grit. while you climb up the guide shows you spots of interest and various photography points on the way. Halt for a light Lunch (Rice, Dal, Veg).
After reaching the top after Trek to Triund, The guides shows you the setup of the camp (tripple sharing) and takes you to places of interest within safety limits. After 4-5 hours of uphill trek, you enjoy your packed dinner (Rice, Dal, Mix Veg) and gaze the star studded sky and sleep in the camp.
Day 2 : Early morning risers get the view of brightly glowing Dhauladhar ranges and bright blue skies or in case of rain, the misty mountains pose ecstatic views. Eat your breakfast and Start Walking downhill and reach the checkpost at Dharamkot. Reach the McLeodganj Market and enjoy the local scenery. Local Guide service ends here.
